Destin Offshore Fishing / Offshore Reports / 2nd day of amberjack season

There doesn't seem to be many posters on here (besides the administrator) so I will be one of the first. The crew of the Pass Time , a private 25 ft Triton CC, pre-fished a few wrecks before AJ opening day and found some quality keeper fish in 80 to 100 ft of water. All were thrown back to fight another day. That day unfortunately could not be opening day but it wound up being the 2nd day. We couldn't find the AJ bite anywhere. It seems that the high pressure and extreme heat and slack tide may have shut off the bite until later in the afternoon so we just headed out to 200+ feet to hunt for mingos. We managed a 3 man limit and then moved back to some structure to try for an AJ again but still no luck with finding anything...not even a grouper or red snapper. Anyone else have a similar experience or input to offer on this topic?
