I do not have any info for you, but I am wondering if there is anyone out there that has a personal boat that would take me and my gf out in shore fishing around Destin.  We can provide food and gas for whoever takes us.  It is hard to find a guided trip for a decent amount of time for cheap when it is just the two of us.  We are from Texas and it is our first time to Florida.  I am a US Marine combat vet and just graduated college.  We re just looking for a good experience whether we get on the fish or not.  We are not made of money but paying for gas and food, drinks, ect. is about all we can afford to provide.  If there is anyone out there interested please contact me.

Hello!  First of all want to say thank you for the opportunity to post my question.  My family and I stayed in Destin during Spring Break last year and had great success with our 1st time surf fishing for Pompano.  Problem is, I am now hooked on surf fishing!  I booked a charter to take my 11 yr old son on to go after something larger to better our already great experience in Destin.... Problem is, my son has been cursed with horrible sea sickness.  The boy loves to fish, but cannot handle the waves... We have tried everything!

So to get to the point, I would love to give Shark fishing from the surf a try.  I am looking for recommendations for guides that will help me out with this.  We are staying in Destin Florida next Spring Break, but I will travel a little ways if it increases our chances of catching something!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

The fishing has started off right for us this summer. Lots of redfish and speckled trout. It is definitely a more productive start to the season than last year!

Welcome,

May is one of the hottest months of the entire year for sharks so yes I recommend throwing out some bait from shore, even better yet booking a 4-8 trip and bringing up a large bull, hammer, nurse shark.

The canoe would be good back in the protected bayous or flats at the time for trout and reds for sure..

I have a couple of relatives that are staying for a week in late May.  My first question is whether they could hope for any success using a canoe or inflatable boat in the bay.  I can loan them the gear but they would need to be able to put in close to a good grass bed for some good trout fishing I would guess

They would probably be happy if they could hook some small sharks from shore.  Would the bridges or beach be a possibility for this?  We have the gear if the fish are available

Sometimes it isn't worth trying to do your own thing in a week.
tks

Spring Break fishing is in full swing in Destin. The redfish and sheepshead bite is the best right now, getting a few speckled trout mixed in but most are dinks. Looking forward to another good season!!

Hey there! I currently reside in Maine, however, me and my family will be moving to this amazing place, Sabbia Beach Condos in Pompano Beach, FL when the construction work finishes this year. I was simply wondering if the tournament is held annually and whether anyone here might be able to provide me with some additional information on the subject. Thanks, Charles.
