Announced Saturday in Tampa at the 2016 National Seminar Series, it's true, STAR tagged redfish will be distributed on the West AND East Coast this year!
More exciting changes:
*$500,000 in prizes including $100,000 in scholarships, a GMC truck, boat, motor and trailer packages such as a Contender 22 Sport, Pathfinder 2200 TRS, Hells Bay Waterman and Sea Hunt 235 Escape, all powered by Yamaha, plus so much more.
*NEW Offshore Divisions include Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Kingfish and Lionfish (in addition to the Open, Ladies, Youth, Fly, Kayak, Professional Guides and Conservation Division. The eligible species are Spotted Seatrout, Snook, Sheepshead, Cobia, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Kingfish and Lionfish.)
*Youth anglers will participate FREE in the Tagged redfish division with a chance to win one of two $25,000 scholarships.

I just signed up for the CCA STAR tournament. The West Coast contest started on Memorial Day and runs through Labor Day. Just catch one of the 80 tagged redfish that were released from Pensacola to the Southern Everglades, snap a photo with my cell phone using their CCA STAR APP and I could win a new boat! I have a 24 jh performance bay boat, we r coming to Destin in a few weeks. What is the best place to store a boat, would prefer something with a cover and a lift.

Do you own a center console and want to share boat/expenses/maintenance...  I'm looking to partnter a 20-26' center Console with a local fishermen... My uses will be fishing 2-3 times per week and an occasional trip to Crab Island...  Let me know

Also, how line shy are the fish?  I usually run pretty heavy lines and leaders due to the likelihood of tyin into a big toothy thing, but I know yall have a lot clearer water than us

Im an out of towner from Columbia, SC coming down with the girlfriends family for a week (starting this Saturday).  I plan to spend a lot of time in the surf while the women shop and do whatever it is women do on vacation.   How has the fishing been?  I fish the beaches here quite often, and it's definitely been a slow year.  Any pointers on bait, tactics, etc?  We were down last year as well and I did my best throwing a casting spoon and on cut squid on 2 drops
