I live on the Gulf in Southeast Texas and looking forward to a trip to Destin for bank (surf, pier) fishing for whatever is biting in September.I will more than likely book a trip for specks and redfish too. Will pompano be biting then? What other fish available from the bank?

Hello,

Im new to the board and like to to say hi to all the fisherman out there. I figure that there are very knowledgable captains and fishermen on this board. I would like to set up a charter for my upcoming visit to Destin/Pensacola. I hear about fishing the oil rigs for nice quality Tunas and pelagics. I would also like to pull on some grouper as well.  Any recommendation out there for a trip of this nature?

I do not need to be on a Hatterras type of boat. I enjoy being on a center console with twinnies. I rather get to the area quicker and be less comfortable. Fishing time is precious LOL. Do you you think a 10-12 hr trip will be sufficient for this type of trip?

My second day, I would love to get some inshore action with light tackle. What do you guys recommend for this type of trip?

Thanks in advance for your help.

As the Hawaiian say.... Hana Pa'a = HOOK UP!!!

The fishing in Destin has been good lately. Lots of bait, life on the flats, and plenty of slot reds and big speckled trout to be caught.
