I will be doing some surf and bay fishing. I need to learn the ins and outs of saltwater fishing as well as where to fish freshwater for bass and crappie. I have a 15 ft 3" 2 man electric boat with aerated livewell and HB fishfinder. Do you think I can fish parts of the bay where it is wind protected from this boat. It is a great boat, much better than a Kayak. Let me know what you think.

Welcome to the Destin area, no better place on earth to live if you love fishing.

There are plenty of places to use your small boat for both fresh/salt species. Great local rivers i.e. Choc river, multiple dune lakes for trout etc.  As far as the bay is concerned keep it close to shore... mouth of bayous etc if you have a slow boat.  The bay can get gnarly FAST! Wink
